Al shabaab confiscates clan owned weapons, battle vehicles

DINSOR – The administration of Al shabaab in Bay and Bakool regions Wednesday forcibly confiscated battle vehicles and weapons including rifle and RBG guns which are owned by local clan after operations in Dinsor district of Bay region in southern Somalia.

Reports emanating form the region suggested the guns were discovered in great holes. During their operations in the district of Dinsor, the Al shabaab fighters seized about 20 battle wagons. In the past, the group ordered all local tribes to hand over their weapons to them as they are in combat with Somali government backed by AMISOM forces despite some clans opposed the order. Al shabaab has not released any comments about the move so far.
