Somali MPs oppose the New Azania state administration |

Il n'y a pas de traductions disponibles MOGADISHU – Some of Somali parliamentarians, hailing form Gedo region, have said they against the formation of the new Azania state which was recently established in Nairobi, the capital of neighboring Kenya. Speaking to local media, Abdurrahman Yusuf Diriye, a Somali lawmaker, said the Azania administration doesn’t represent the clans of Somalia, spelling out that the MPs from Gedo don’t recognize the existence of the administration which led by Mohamed Gandi, former defense minister of Somalia. Diriye charged Azania with stoking the ongoing battles in parts of Gedo region in southern Somalia. For his part, Ahmed Mohamed Abukar, another legislator, said the Azania was not formed in accordance with the rules of the country, pointing out they will not support that administration. The Azania officials claim they are responsible the Gedo and Jubba regions, areas mostly under Al shabaab movement which struggles to dethrone Somalia’s internationally recognized government |
