There are no translations available. MOGADISHU – At least 7 people including children, women and old people died of hunger in Lafole village in Lower Shabelle region of southern Somalia. A woman contacted and told Shabelle Media Network that the people died in IDPs camp in the village of Lafole, about 25 kilometers south of Mogadishu. She said that hundreds of newly drought displaced people flooded the village which was a home for thousands of people who in the past fled the ongoing Mogadishu violence. She called on aid agencies operating in the horn of African nation to urgently reach at them, saying the drought affected Somalis are facing very desperate living conditions in the village. In the last few days, children dying of hunger and malnourishment were on sharp rise in many parts of the country including Mogadishu, the capital.
